Lobster helps you to stay up-to-date on stakeholders, organisations and legislative projects. With Lobster you can also filter relevant Twitter conversations. Before you get started, it’s good to take a quick look at few of the key functionalities. These are:

1 Lobster Search
2 How to follow stakeholders, organisations, legislative projects and tags

3 Filtering Twitter
4 How to control notifications
5 Lobster Stakeholder Data

Mastering these will help you get most out of your Lobster Light with least effort.

1 Lobster Search

You’ll find Lobster’s Quick search at the top-right corner of any page on Lobster. It is possible to search with any term (free text).

To access Lobster’s Extended Seach, just click the search field on any page and press enter. The Extended Search allows you to narrow the search: tags, specific organisations and members of a political party.

Leaving the search term empty allows you to list all objects for chosen tags, organisations or parties.

2 How to follow stakeholders, organisations, legislative projects and tags

With Lobster you can follow any content that is relevant to you. Once you find something that you need to stay up-to-date about, just click the Follow-button under the title of the content. Next time there is an update, you will be immediately notified by email.

3 Filtering Twitter

Lobster tracks the tweets of the 5000+ political stakeholders in our master data. We have built a powerful search that combs through the tweets of all the Lobster stakeholders and organisations while filtering out rest of the Twitter conversation. Just type in an interesting topic and see how the political field is reacting to it.

We also wanted to make sure you don’t miss any relevant future Twitter discussions, so you can save any of your searches for following.  We highly recommend doing this with your organization’s name and any other relevant keywords. Once those surface in a stakeholder’s tweet, we’ll notify you and you can join the conversation while it’s fresh.

4 How to control notifications

To manage your follows and Twitter notifications, go to the Follows -tab on your Lobster Dashboard. There you’ll find all the content that you are following and can delete any items that are no longer relevant.
