A Project has a more concrete goal than a Theme and typically it has a beginning and a planned end. Project is always related to a Theme.

The progress of a Project is monitored with the help of TODOs and Actions. In addition, Lobster gives the possibility to evaluate the attitudes of selected stakeholders compared to the Project goal.

Creating a Project

As part of the Theme-Project-Action process, Project is created after the Theme is created.

After creating a Theme, the process of creating a new Project start by clicking the + NEW PROJECT button on the left-hand side of the screen.

Alternatively, the process of adding a new Project starts by clicking the blue circle with + on the top right of the screen. From the drop-down menu, select Add new project.

Basic info

The basic information for a Project has six items of which four are completed in the first stage of editing.

Each Project has a name and a Theme the Project is assigned to. These two items are the only mandatory items for a Project. The correct Theme is selected from a drop-down menu, and it is possible to search for the Theme.

Projects marked as active are shown in different listings. On the other hand, passive projects are hidden from listings and thus, they do not interfere with everyday use of Lobster. However, unchecking “Active” does not delete a Project from Lobster, all project-related information is stored for later evaluation.

Setting the goal is important at least for two reasons. From the Project basic view, Lobster users can see the reasoning behind the project and what it aims to achieve. In addition, the attitudes of stakeholders chosen for the project will be evaluated in relation to the goal.

Users responsible for this project

Each Project has one or more users responsible for it. Users are the ones who are responsible for carrying out the activities for the project and usually one of them is responsible for reporting on the progress.

Those marked as responsible can easily add actions or stakeholders to the Project. These additions can be done, for example, from stakeholders or organisations profile. In addition , responsible user’s Dashboard changes as the projects evolve.

Events relevant for this project

Events are a variety of affairs that are global inside Lobster. In practice, this means that, for example, the government’s internal budget negotiations can be added as part of multiple Projects without adding and Action to each Project.

The Events related to the Project at-hand are selected by ticking the box next to them. Selected Events will appear on the project timeline.
